Adopt a Husky (medium coat)

Husky (medium coat) Dog

Cloud the Dog needs a home

CLOUD

Breed: Husky / Adoption fee is $150 / Sex: Male / Age: Approximately 2 yrs old /
Weight: Approximately 55 pounds

Cloud is only 2 years old and has energy to burn!  He is a lovable and gorgeous husky that loves to run and play.  Cloud has a big personality and just like a husky he is a very talkative boy.  Since he is energetic, he would be a great running or hiking partner as long as you keep him on a harness or leash.  He gets along well with other dogs at the rescue but he has a high prey drive and will not be safe around cats or other small animals.

Cloud is highly skilled at peeling away a fence so a hot wire will be required to keep him contained.  He would love a home with a yard to run and play, especially with toys that squeak.  And since this boy is so smart, he also knows how to escape from a kennel and will even chew through a metal fence.  He would do best in a home with someone who is experienced with the husky breed, as he needs regular exercise for both his body and mind.

If you would like a beautiful active dog for your active family, and you have a secure yard and fence, Cloud is your boy!

NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment.  You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application.

Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx $100) this is quite often needed to prevent digging, climbing or chewing through fences.  A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind.  Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, knowing they have a history of escaping and will either jump or climb over your current fencing.  For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours.

Northern Breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities.  They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging and if not exercised they may be hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our website Home Page.

Pet Angels has a number of northern breeds available for adoption and you can see them all by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org.
